The Beginning

Okay so this isn't really the beginning. I've been trying to run off and on over the years as a mechanism to control my weight. I struggle with this and it goes up and down like a roller coaster. Currently,  I'm about 45lbs or so down and have been running since January. I have my first ever 10K (more on that in a future post) coming up this Saturday. Additionally I have goals for a half marathon in the fall and a full marathon by spring of 2017. My ultimate goal is to qualify and run the Boston Marathon by age 40. I have 4 years to make that happen. I thought it would be great to chronicle this process on a blog. There will be ups and downs for sure. I'm sure many days my posts may have a negative overtone but, in the end, I hope this journey will be one that I am positive, happy and proud of.  More to come....
